Due North

My friend Matt and I got to visit Chicago for a day while traveling for work. Since Matt had never been to the Windy City before we wanted to make the most of it. We had one day in Chicago and I had one roll of film. Here is what we saw...

Letting Loose

My favorite part of the wedding day has to be after all the formality has past and there is not a care in the world. Where the bride has just lived her perfect day and she gets to just let loose on the dance floor... I love it! Capturing it on either a Holga or LOMO LC-A+ with a flash is by far the best way to tell this part of the story. These cameras are so simple to operate, giving you the freedom to truly capture genuine moments. The LOMO LC-A's slogan is "Don't think, just shoot".... check out what Lomography is all about here.

Sleeping in Chaos

When I first saw this shot I was too scared to take it because her father was starring right at me and I didn't want to offend either of them... so I kept walking but all I could think about was missing such a unique moment. I waited a bit and circled back and this time she was sleeping so I quickly snapped the shot and her dad grumbled something at me and I ran off... sometimes you got to do what you gotta do to get the shot you want...

My Favorite Saturday

It's about time! This roll of 120 has been sitting in a drawer for weeks and I finally got it developed this past weekend. I was so excited about how it turned out.

For the shoot, Caroline and I thought we would go to some of our most favorite places, thus far, in our new city, Birmingham.

The shoot took place in February, which was only the second month we had lived here so our favorite places were quite minimal... this day we chose Urban Standard and the running/walking trail near our house.

Hope you enjoy...
